Week 11

Reflect on TPACK
Create a PLE Blog post explaining what you learned about TPACK. Be sure to explain each of the constructs in the framework (e.g. PK, TK, etc.) and provide and explanatory example of each.

PK/Pedagogical knowledge is basically the knowledge of teaching, knowing how to teach.
CK/Content knowledge is the content knowledge of the subject to be taught.
TK/Tecknological knowledge is what a person knows about technologies to be used while teaching.
PCK/Pedagogical content knowledge or describing what teachers know in a specific content area. It is more than just knowing about something, it is being able to apply it to different things and teach it.
TCK/technological content knowledge or knowing different technologies that can teach different things and being able to use them to teach.
TPK/technological pedagogical knowledge or knowing how technologies can be used in a general teaching context.
TPACK is being able to use technology to teach content. Is it adding everything together, making it possible for someone with the knowledge of how to teach to be able to teach content using technology.

Pick at least one example of teaching from your past and explain it using the TPACK framework.
I don't have very much experience with teaching in the TPACK framework, in the classroom I helped in the teacher didn't use any technology other than an ancient overhead projector. In this class, however, we have learned a lot in the TPACK framework. We learn how to teach and how to incorporate the concepts that need to be taught with technology. When we did our digital storytelling project we learned how to use the technology, how to teach using the technology, and explored different types of content that could be taught using digital storytelling.

Also discuss the representations that various technologies afford. Think about the technologies you have explored in this class and state what representations of content they provide and why these particular representations would be useful in learning the content you are trying to teach.
**I don't really understand what "representations" means in this context**
Stellarium: useful because it is an easy way to view stars all over the world. Stars are much more visible this way than in real life, and it can be taught during class rather than in the middle of the night.
Digital microscopes: allows students to see a large variety of things with different levels of magnification. They can take pictures and make movies of what they learn as well.
Virtual field trip: easy and affordable way to see sights all over the globe and learn about and endless amount of places and things without leaving the classroom.
